Fragrance Care — Candles & Incense
A candle rewards the patient.
Candles
- First burn: let the wax pool across the full diameter of the vessel — usually 3 to 4 hours — then extinguish. This one act sets the shape of every burn to come.
- Trim the wick to five millimetres before each lighting.
- Burn for no more than four hours at a stretch.
- Keep away from draught, direct sun, and anything flammable. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- The last centimetre of wax is not for burning. Warm the vessel in hot water, wipe it out, and it becomes a small glass for any type of use.
Incense Cones
- Light the tip of the cone and leave the flame for 10 seconds, then gently blow it out so the ember glows.
- Rest the cone on a non-flammable holder or dish that catches the ash.
- One cone burns for roughly twenty minutes and scents the room for far longer.
- Burn in a ventilated room, away from draught and anything flammable, and never leave it unattended.
- Let the ash cool completely before clearing it away.
